Warren Piece, Co.

Warren Piece Co is a member-led, non-profit community rooted in the connection between people, land, and the spirit of mutual flourishing.

Reformed as a nonprofit in 2024, we are working to develop deeper reciprocity with each other, the larger community, and with the Earth that sustains us.

Members share the responsibilities of maintaining the prairie, woods, and wetlands of the Warren Piece property and creating opportunities for humans to develop a kinship with nature.

Power to the People and the Prairie

together we flourish!

Community

We believe in the power of community and the strength that comes from collaboration. We are building a space where everyone-regardless of their background or identity can connect, collaborate and thrive. Our approach is rooted in cooperation, transparency, and reciprocity; ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

Conservation

We are passionate stewards of the land, committed to the long-term health of the prairie, woodland, wetland, and Big Pine Creek ecosystems. We prioritize sustainability, conservation, and restoration in all our efforts, from our agricultural practices to the protection of natural habitats. Our goal is to preserve this land for future generations, maintaining its biodiversity and ecological balance.

Education

We believe that education is key to fostering a connection to nature and inspiring meaningful action. We are dedicated to providing educational opportunities that empower individuals to understand and engage with the environment. Through outreach, programming, and hands-on experiences, we promote lifelong learning and a sense of responsibility toward the natural world.

“If one [pecan] tree fruits, they all fruit— there are no soloists. Not one tree in a grove, but the whole grove; not one grove in the forest, but every grove; all across the county and all across the state... What happens to one happens to us all. All flourishing is mutual.”
